Exit and Re-Entry Visa (Khurooj wa Awda) in Saudi Arabia

Issue an exit/re-entry visa on Absher in minutes - know the SAR 200 / SAR 100 maths before you book.

Last verified: 2026-06

Overview

Every Iqama holder needs a valid exit/re-entry visa (Khurooj wa Awda) to leave and return to Saudi Arabia. There are two types: single (one round-trip) and multiple (unlimited entries within the validity).

Both are issued on Absher in a few minutes once all blockers are clear: paid dependent fees, paid traffic fines, valid Iqama, and valid passport.

Single exit/re-entry costs 200 SAR for the first 60 days and 100 SAR per additional month. Multiple exit/re-entry costs 500 SAR for 90 days and 200 SAR per additional month. The fees apply to each person on the visa, so a family of four pays four times.

Documents required

  • Valid Iqama (with enough validity to cover the visa)
  • Valid passport (6+ months for most destinations)
  • Cleared dependent fees
  • Cleared traffic and personal fines
  • Absher Individuals or Muqeem account (depending on issuance route)

Eligibility

  • Your Iqama is valid for the entire requested visa duration
  • All your dependent fees are paid through the trip end date
  • No huroob (absconding) report against you
  • Sponsor's establishment is active on Qiwa/Muqeem

Where to do it online

  • Absher

Issue, check, and extend exit/re-entry visas

  • Muqeem

    Sponsor-side exit/re-entry issuance for workers

Saudi embassies abroad can extend a visa if you cannot return in time. No typing centre is needed inside KSA.

Renewal

Visas cannot be 'renewed' but can be extended while abroad through the nearest Saudi embassy or Absher if the sponsor allows.

Fines & penalties

  • Late return: 1,000 SAR fine; risk of Iqama cancellation if overstay is long
  • Returning after Iqama expiry: immigration may deny entry
  • Unpaid dependent fees: visa request will fail at payment step

Common pitfalls

  • Forgetting that the fee multiplies per dependent on the same trip
  • Booking a 3-month multiple thinking it's cheaper - the single may be enough if you have one return only
  • Letting your Iqama expire mid-trip - re-entry may be refused
  • Departing without confirming the visa was actually paid (Absher sometimes shows 'pending')

FAQs

Open Absher Individuals, go to My Services > Travel > Inquire Exit/Re-entry. The system shows type, validity, and remaining days.

Single allows one round trip within the validity. Multiple allows unlimited entries during the validity window. Multiple costs more but is worth it if you travel often.

Single: 200 SAR for the first 60 days, plus 100 SAR for each extra month. Multiple: 500 SAR for the first 90 days, plus 200 SAR per extra month. Fees apply per person.

Yes, through the nearest Saudi embassy or via Absher if the sponsor authorises it. Apply before the visa expires to avoid the late-return fine.

Yes. Each dependent on your Iqama needs an exit/re-entry visa, and the fee is charged per person. You can issue them together on Absher.

You'll be assessed a 1,000 SAR late-return fine, and repeated offences can trigger Iqama cancellation. If you can't return on time, extend the visa before expiry.

Skip the hassle

A vetted typing centre can handle the paperwork end-to-end.
