Invest Easy
Oman's one-stop platform for company registration, commercial licensing, and beneficial ownership filing. Run by MOCIIP under the 2025-2026 corporate law reforms.
Overview
Invest Easy (business.gov.om) is the Sultanate of Oman's official Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion (MOCIIP) one-stop platform for company registration, commercial licensing, and the broader business compliance lifecycle. The platform consolidates services that previously required visits to MOCIIP, the Royal Oman Police, the Ministry of Manpower, and the tax authority into a single online channel. Most aspects of starting and running a business in Oman now flow through Invest Easy, including the post-2025 beneficial ownership filing requirement.
Two regulatory facts shape Invest Easy in 2026. First, the corporate law reforms enacted through Royal Decree 27/2026 modernised governance, defined conversion procedures, and updated qualification criteria for permitted managers, which are the most significant modifications to company registration and governance requirements since 2019. Second, Ministerial Decision 245/2025 implemented mandatory beneficial ownership records and set up a new electronic filing platform through which all compliance data must now be filed. Companies that appointed management before the January 2026 changes had until 11 July 2026 to re-register under the revised criteria, with non-compliance triggering administrative penalties, suspension of commercial registration, and possible referral to public prosecution.
Three operational points matter. First, Invest Easy offers end-to-end company incorporation: name reservation, Memorandum and Articles of Association registration (the M&AoA must be drawn in Arabic and notarised), commercial registration (CR) issuance, business licence issuance, and tax registration, all online with blockchain verification on the digital certificates. Second, beneficial ownership filing is now a separate ongoing compliance, not a one-off, and changes must be filed within statutory windows. Third, the platform supports both SPC (single-person companies) and LLC (limited liability companies) flows, with cost and procedural differences worth confirming before commitment. Confirm specific fees and timelines on business.gov.om before assuming a number.

How to access
1. Register on Invest Easy
Visit business.gov.om and register an account using your civil ID (residents and citizens) or passport (for foreign founders), with email and Omani mobile number verification.
2. Reserve a company name
Open Name Reservation, propose a trading name in Arabic and English, confirm it complies with Omani naming rules, and submit. The platform either confirms the reservation or returns it for amendment within a short window.
3. Draw up and notarise the M&AoA
Have the Memorandum and Articles of Association drafted in Arabic by a licensed legal professional and notarised. Upload the notarised version to Invest Easy as part of the incorporation file.
4. Submit incorporation documents and pay fees
Upload the complete file (M&AoA, shareholder details, beneficial ownership declaration, address proof, business activity selection) and pay the fees through the integrated payment gateway. Fees vary by company type, share capital, and activity.
5. Receive the CR and business licence
Upon approval, MOCIIP issues the Certificate of Incorporation, the Commercial Registration Certificate with a unique CR number, and the Business Licence. All documents arrive digitally through the portal with blockchain verification. Print or share through the Invest Easy verification link as needed.
FAQs
Invest Easy is Oman's one-stop platform for company registration, commercial licensing, and the broader business compliance lifecycle. It consolidates MOCIIP and related authority services into a single online channel for both Omani citizens and foreign investors.
End-to-end incorporation typically takes 1-2 weeks once the M&AoA is drafted and notarised and the file is complete. Specific timelines depend on the activity, the share capital, and the regulatory clearances required (some activities need additional sectoral approvals).
Fees vary widely by company type (SPC vs LLC), share capital, and business activity. Standard incorporation fees, name reservation, M&AoA notarisation, CR issuance, business licence, and tax registration sit in different line items. Confirm specifics on business.gov.om before assuming a total.
Royal Decree 27/2026 modernised company governance, defined conversion procedures between company forms, and updated the qualification criteria for permitted managers. Companies that appointed management before the changes had until 11 July 2026 to re-register under the revised criteria, with non-compliance triggering penalties up to public prosecution referral.
Ministerial Decision 245/2025 introduced mandatory beneficial ownership records: every company must disclose the natural persons who ultimately own or control it, with the data filed through the electronic platform. Changes must be reported within statutory windows. This is now an ongoing compliance, not a one-off.
Yes. Foreign investors can register companies in Oman through Invest Easy, with the share capital, ownership, and activity rules varying by the foreign investment law in force and the specific activity. Some activities require Omani partners; others are 100% foreign-owned. Confirm with MOCIIP before structuring.
The primary surface is the web portal business.gov.om. MOCIIP has rolled out mobile-accessible flows; check the app stores for the latest official MOCIIP app if a mobile-first journey is required.
Late renewal triggers fines and can block the company from operating. Renew through Invest Easy 60 days before expiry; the platform sends reminders at 60 and 30 days. Severely overdue renewals can result in CR suspension.
